STRATEGIC PLANNER, SPARROW HEALTH SYSTEM, LANSING MI
Sparrow Health System, located in Lansing, Michigan, which has been named one of the "10 Great Cities for Young Adults" by financial news organization Kiplinger Washington Editors Inc., is mid-Michigan's largest private employer with over 7,000 associates and is a partner with Michigan State University's Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine.
Sparrow seeks a Strategic Planner to take a direct role in coordinating and leading health system strategic and business planning functions and projects. S/he will work closely with senior leadership to develop the overall strategic plan and ensure regular reporting related to progress in achieving the plan's goals and targets. This person will lead projects involved in the development, re-development, and changes to business plans for existing and new services. S/he will serve as an internal consultant for senior leadership, department directors and medical staff in any special assignments related to strategic planning, business planning and market research objectives when necessary. S/he will supervise the activities of all planning department Associates in support of these goals.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
Master's degree in business administration or health care administration or equivalent.
At least five years related experience in health care planning/data analysis.
Demonstrates strong research and analytical abilities, leadership qualities, able to work under minimal supervision and to make independent decisions.
Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills, strong written communication and editing skills.
Superior skills in various PC software packages, such as SPSS, Excel, Thompson Market Planner Plus or similar information tools, MHA IDS-MIDB, decision support tools, and relational databases.
Demonstrated experience in forecasting techniques and a high degree of analytical and problem solving skills.
